Weston Suggs is a stand-up and sketch comedian based in North Carolina.
After years as a youth group leader and special education teacher, Weston Suggs finally gave up on being a good person and began a career in stand-up. He got his start as the irreverent sketch comedian “Shrimp King,” garnering over 13 thousand followers on Instagram, and quickly moved his talents to the stage. In just his third year as a stand-up, Weston finished as the runner-up in Helium’s NC’s Funniest Person Contest.
Weston performs in comedy clubs across the Southeast and has worked with national touring acts such as Pauly Shore, Janeane Garofalo, and Hans Kim. Capable of both clean and dirty sets, he has been featured with Don’t Tell Comedy, Rhizome Comedy Recordings, and The North Carolina Comedy Festival, all while being a regular at Goodnight’s Comedy Club.

Weston’s short-form sketches can be found in the watery domain of his Instagram alter-ego, _shrimpking. His videos are often silly and light, as seen in his viral “Deep Thoughts” series, but also delve into parody, dark humor, and observational comedy. Though his shrimp-eating contest days are on hiatus, faithful members of the Prawn Army can always count on something new and unexpected from his majesty, the King.
